This role will focus on developing scalable data and analytics solutions within AWS, automating platform capabilities, and improving the reliability, performance, and usability of the platform.The ideal candidate is passionate about engineering, automation, and problem solving. They enjoy building services, developing Python applications, working with cloud-native technologies, and improving the developer experience for teams consuming the platform.\nWhat You'll Do\nPlatform Engineering\nDesign, develop, and maintain platform services supporting data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and reporting.\nBuild reusable Python-based frameworks, utilities, and automation tools used across multiple product teams.\nDevelop platform capabilities that enable rapid onboarding of datasets and analytics workloads.\nImprove platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.\nData Engineering & Analytics\nDevelop and maintain data pipelines supporting ingestion and processing of enterprise data.\nBuild and optimize ETL/ELT solutions using Python, Spark, and AWS services.\nSupport data lake architecture and modernization initiatives.\nWork with structured and semi-structured data including Parquet, Iceberg, JSON, and relational datasets.\nCloud & Infrastructure Automation\nDevelop Infrastructure-as-Code and platform automation solutions.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.\nImplement monitoring, observability, and operational tooling.\nAutomate platform provisioning, configuration, and service onboarding.\nDeveloper Experience & Platform Operations\nCreate tooling, templates, and frameworks that simplify platform adoption.\nTroubleshoot complex platform and data issues.\nHelp establish engineering best practices around testing, deployment, security, and maintainability.\nContribute to platform standards and architecture decisions.\nEmerging Technology & AI\nExplore and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve platform capabilities and developer productivity.\nIdentify opportunities to leverage automation and machine learning within platform workflows.\nEvaluate new cloud services and analytics technologies.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.\n2-5 years of software engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering experience.\nStrong Python development skills with experience building production-grade applications and automation.\nHands-on experience developing solutions in AWS.\nExperience working with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, ECS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, and IAM.\nExperience building and supporting data pipelines and cloud-native applications.\nStrong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.\nExperience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience working within Agile development teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.\nExperience with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or modern data lake architectures.\nExperience building Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform or CloudFormation.\nExperience developing APIs, platform services, or internal developer tooling.\nExperience implementing monitoring, observability, and operational automation.\nAWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, Developer, or Data Engineer.\nExperience supporting analytics, reporting, machine learning, or AI workloads.\nFamiliarity with Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise.\nTechnologies You'll Work With\nPython\nAWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, CloudWatch)\nApache Spark\nSQL\nApache Iceberg\nGitHub & CI/CD Pipelines\nTerraform / Infrastructure-as-Code\nData Lake & Analytics Platforms\nWhat Success Looks Like\nBuilding reusable platform services that accelerate onboarding and delivery.\nAutomating manual operational processes.\nImproving platform reliability, observability, and scalability.\nDelivering engineering solutions used by multiple analytics and product teams.\nHelping evolve Data Forge into a modern, self-service cloud analytics platform.\nThe estimated base salary for this job is 120,000 - $165,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $138,000 - $189,750.
