The Insights Platform is a suite of healthcare analytics products focused on revenue cycle, supply chain, pharmacy and other healthcare capabilities. As the platform grows to deliver more insights, new data pipelines, APIs, server-side processes, and services will need to be designed, developed, deployed, and maintained to deliver those insights to our clients. The Lead Data Engineer will be working daily with product leadership, and data engineers on the team to help support and drive that growth.Huron seeks a highly motivated and independent engineer to design and build solutions across its healthcare capabilities.\nThe Lead Data Engineer’s overarching role is translating business and analytical requirements into reliable, scalable, production-grade data solutions. This role focuses on designing, building, deploying, and operating data pipelines, services, and applications that support critical business use cases. You will define technical standards, architectural patterns, and operational practices that engineering teams use to deliver and support data solutions as longlived services. This includes designing data workflows, APIs, processing logic, and the supporting infrastructure required to operate these solutions at scale. The Lead Data Engineer will work closely with a Solution Architect to own and implement large scale technical implementations providing technical mentorship to other Data Engineers.\nThe Lead Data Engineer must demonstrate strong software engineering discipline, experience shipping production systems, and a mindset of ownership through the full solution lifecycle. You must be able to communicate architectural approaches clearly, lead implementation efforts, and ensure solutions meet expectations for reliability, performance, and supportability. A strong computer science foundation and the ability to learn and adapt quickly are essential.\nResponsibilities:\nDesigning and providing level of effort estimates for changes to the Insights applications.\nDeveloping high quality modifications to the application source code, processes, and architecture.\nDelivering fully tested code prior to prod-deployment when appropriate.\nTroubleshooting bugs and issues in the application.\nCoordinating with other engineers to ensure comprehensive changes to the platform meet business needs.\nRecommending and implementing enhancements that streamline processes and improve platform performance, availability, or functionality.\nAssisting in the creation of project plans and capability roadmaps to ensure development of technical solutions are adequately structured and represented.\nMaintaining updated documentation of system and solution designs.\nProviding applicable training to various internal functional SMEs and stakeholders.\nProvide technical leadership to engineers working on data solutions.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nRequired:\nU.S. work authorization is required.\nA technical (math, engineering, computer science) B.S. degree or equivalent work experience.\nStrong computer science fundamentals.\n6+ years of professional software development experience.\n6+ years of professional Python and SQL experience.\n6+ years of professional experience with Cloud Technologies (i.e. Amazon Web Services)\nExperience working with VCS (Git, Subversion, etc.).\nExcellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.\nMotivated, self-starter with ability to learn quickly.\nAbility to work within a highly driven and multi-discipline engineering and product team.\nPreferred:\nExperience in an agile development process experience with Scrum preferred.\nExperience working with PostgreSQL.\nExperience working with Data Build Tool (DBT)\nExperience working with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., CloudFormation)\nExperience working with UNIX based operating systems (Linux, Ubuntu, etc.)\nExperience working with Snowflake, CloudFront, API Gateway/Lambda, ECS, Application Load Balancer, EC2, S3, VPC, etc.\nExperience working with Git.\nExperience working with Analytics driven applications.\nExperience with Healthcare DataEDI/FHIR standards.\n\nThis position can be Full-Time Remote.\nTechnologies We Use:\nCloud (AWS) / Data Platforms (Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, S3) / Data Processing (Spark, Athena, Glue) / APIs and Services / Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) / RDBMS and NoSQL / Python / SQL / Monitoring and Observability Tools The estimated base salary for this job is $140,000 - $190,000 USD. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $168,000 - $228,000 USD. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
