All about the role:
As Chief Accountant, you will play an important governance role within the Group, ensuring that all Polish legal entities operate in full compliance with local legal requirements, Group policies, and financial governance standards.
The role serves as an extension of Group Finance, safeguarding strong governance, financial integrity, and risk management, while supporting business continuity and collaboration across divisions and functions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a global environment and enjoys combining financial expertise with coordinating compliance projects to be in line with local/EU regulations.
The position will be based in Warsaw, Poland.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Act as the right-hand person for the Head of Shared Services Center & Country Officer for all Polish legal entities, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, group policies, internal controls, and governance requirements.
- Serve as the key interface between local statutory requirements and Group governance framework. Ensure that statutory officers act in line with approved mandates and Group decisions.
- Ensure high-quality preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS where applicable.
- Acts as primary contact in Poland for (including but not limited to): auditors, tax authorities, banks and insurance companies, external advisors (legal, tax, finance).
- Coordinate and support local and global projects, including: KSeF (e-invoicing system), Transfer Pricing documentation and adjustment, EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), SAP implementation, etc.
Who you are
- Solid background and work experience in statutory accounting, IFRS, tax and compliance, liquidity, risk management and project management.
- Proven ability to operate in an international, matrixed environment and balance local requirements with global standards.
- High attention to detail combined with business pragmatism.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and geographies.
- A strong command of English. Polish language proficiency is meritorious.
- A high tolerance for ambiguity.
