Hussey provides in depth training to help propel your career forward as a new engineer in an environment that supports continued learning and career growth.\nAt any given time, working with a team, this individual may be leading or supporting several projects at different stages of their lifecycle. It is essential for this individual to quickly identify what work is required, develop effective work plans, and deliver high quality results expeditiously. This individual may also have ownership of a project throughout its full lifecycle, from time of sale to completed installation. As such, this role requires finding creative solutions to problems and working cross functionally with departments throughout the company.\nDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop customer specific design solutions for Hussey’s telescopic and chair seating product lines. Focus will be on developing well-designed, manufacturable, cost-effective solutions.\nRevise code compliant submittal drawings after customer approval that reflect the product configurations to be provided. \nWork with project managers, architects, and general contractors to obtain all information required to proceed with detail design development and engineering on an as-needed basis.\nTravel to job sites to assist with 3D building scans and capture building measurements.\nHeavily utilize 3D design software, AutoCAD, and other in-house applications to design and fit the complete seating equipment solution into the building space. \nComplete analysis of the platform structure and related designs using structural analysis software, Mathcad, and other tools.\nPrototype, test and validate new designs.\nProduce part drawings, installation instructions and other scheduling data required to manufacture and install the components of the seating solution into the final site configuration. \nProvide guidance during the manufacturing process of custom designs.\nProvide technical support throughout the installation, including call support and travelling to the site to assist with custom aspects of the installation. \nPossess a continuous improvement mindset, logging and implementing changes through idea brainstorming when outside of production busy season.\nCOMPETENCIES : (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)\nBS in engineering. \nRecord of professional or academic success, and other activities that attest to strong work ethic, leadership, creativity, and high standards.\nProficient in 3D modeling and in 2D AutoCAD, or other transferable 2D skillset.\nDesign and manufacturing experience utilizing the following materials and manufacturing processes preferred: structural steel, plywood, sheet steel stamping and forming, welding. \nMechanical aptitude - fasteners, machine design, hydraulics.\nUnderstanding and experience with quick turn-around prototyping and testing. Ability to develop test plans, conduct testing, write test reports, analyze results, and develop recommendations that are supported by data.\nAdept in structural and stress analysis utilizing hand calculations, spreadsheet tools and / or commercial FEA software.\nDesire for continuous learning, willing to accept new challenges and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.\nDemonstrated project management skills. The anticipated starting range for this position is $77,200 to $108,900 annual.
