Founded in 2004, HX5 is a fast-growing veteran- and woman-owned company with locations nationwide.\nHX5 is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nThe selected Design Team Member will work with Mechanical Engineers to develop and design hardware for various NASA applications. The candidate will be responsible to develop solid models and engineering drawings in accordance with NASA and industry standards. Primary work activities will include design development (CAD modeling), creating and maintaining drawings (drafting), and working with the project teams to meet objectives. Drafting activities will include detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and interface/installation drawings for mechanical systems. The candidate will work on multiple projects at the same time and will be responsible for coordinating efforts to meet various project schedules. The candidate shall have strong communication skills and be proactive in identifying issues and finding solutions.\nRequired Skills:\nBackground in Mechanical Design with strong knowledge of machining and fabrication practices \nStrong knowledge of basic design principles, drafting, and design standards like ASME Y14.5M GD&T\nStrong experience with Creo software, including large assemblies and complex drawings\nExperience using Windchill PLM software (or similar) for configuration management of models, drawings, and associated data, including drawing release and revision\nAbility to read and develop mechanical design solid models, detail, and assembly drawings\nDesired Skills:\nExperience with Aerospace and Spaceflight hardware systems\nAbility to interface with engineering to obtain and implement design requirement\nExperience with SolidWorks design modeling software, including assemblies and detailed drawings\nExperience with other 2-D and 3-D software is desired (AutoCAD, NX, etc.)\nExperience with reverse engineering and 3-d laser scanning & associated data\nEducation/Experience:\nMust have one of the following combinations of education and experience:\nAssociate's degree and five (5) years of experience \nHigh School diploma or equivalent and ten (10) years of experience.\nOther Position Requirements:\nProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a
