Niceville, Florida.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPerform high-complexity evaluations of OEM safety assessments, identifying analytical errors, validating probability models, and ensuring risks are accurately characterized- mirroring demonstrated duties such as detecting flawed OEM Risk Reduction Safety Assessments and correcting probability-based risk ratings.\nDeliver senior-level recommendations that support Air Force operational approvals, safety policy decisions, and risk-acceptance processes.\nProvide expert safety oversight for developmental; and operational test events, ensuring ground tests, flight tests, interoperability test, and reliability test incorporate correct safety objectives and Air Force standards.\nReview T&E plans, procedures, and results for safety impacts and ensure alignment with program safety objectives and Aif Force standards. \nFulfill PWS- directed security requirements, including classified-material handling, SCI product management, and vault-assess operations- as reflected in documented systems safety roles. \nMaintain strict compliance with PWS security and information-protection requirements (classified product tracking, SCI event support, and secure-facility procedures).\nAdvise program leadership on safety risks and requirements across technology maturation, design reviews, test readiness, fielding decisions, sustainment activities, and configuration changes.\nRepresent the program office in high-visibility technical reviews, safety boards, and briefings to senior stakeholders.\nPartner with engineering, T&E organizations, configuration management, OEM partners, logistics, cybersecurity, reliability engineering, and operational units to ensure safety considerations are embedded throughout the acquisition process.\nGuide and mentor junior engineers in system safety methodology and Air Force policy.\nEducation and Experience:\nUndergraduate engineering degree from ABET-accredited college. \nBachelor's degree and twenty (20) years of professional experience\nOr Master's degree and fifteen (15) years of professional experience\nOR Ph.D. and five (5) years of professional experience\nExperience in Systems Engineering to include requirement management, design management, and risk management.\nBroad understanding of Operational Safety, Suitability, and effectiveness in weapon systems\nExperience with implementing safety related standards\nExperience in USAF System Safety or USN safety policies a plus\nPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:\nThis is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.\nOther Position Requirements:\nProof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.\nMust be able to
