In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately selecting the best quality groceries across all departments, from fresh produce and meat to pantry staples, ensuring every order is fulfilled with care and precision. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality directly impact how customers experience Hy-Vee online.\nIf you enjoy staying active, take pride in doing a job right, and thrive working independently in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to have you on our team.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nDeliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer warmly and assisting them with their needs throughout the store\n\nAccurately select groceries ordered online by customers, choosing the highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products\n\nSelect, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones\n\nEnsure products maintain proper temperature throughout the entire fulfillment process\n\nPlace gathered orders in storage at the proper temperature and retrieve them promptly prior to the customer's arrival\n\nCart orders to and place them in the holding area for customer pickup\n\nLift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicles\n\nTender customer orders through POS and process credit card payments\n\nSubstitute products for customers upon request or when items are unavailable\n\nContinually monitor incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment\n\nAnswer phones and emails promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers\n\nFollow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines\n\nPitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up\n\nYour Skills\nTo be successful in this role, you'll need to be able to:\nBring commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and a genuine passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience\n\nSelect the highest quality products with a strong eye for freshness and accuracy across all departments\n\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with customers and store personnel in a friendly, approachable manner\n\nStay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment\n\nIdentify problems and develop practical solutions, including making product substitutions on the fly\n\nWork independently and complete daily workloads with limited supervision\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, Health Wellness Home; Online Shopping Department Manager\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is a fast-moving role with constant pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks throughout your shift. You'll work primarily in a retail store setting and may be exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, moving equipment hazards, and electrical equipment.
