In this role, you'll be responsible for the total cleanliness and appearance of the store inside and out, keeping equipment maintained and ensuring a positive environment for customers and employees alike.\nIf you take pride in a job well done, enjoy staying active, and want to be part of a team that keeps things running smoothly, we'd love to have you on board.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nProvide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every interaction a positive one\n\nMaintain total store cleanliness and appearance inside and out, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, shampooing carpets, and sanitizing\n\nChange ceiling lights and install or replace towel, paper, and soap dispensers as needed\n\nMonitor plumbing, fixtures, coolers, and freezers and notify supervisors of any issues\n\nEmpty garbage and crush cardboard throughout your shift\n\nUnclog drains as needed and perform routine equipment maintenance\n\nClean cooling systems and filters for the store\n\nOrder cleaning products as needed and audit invoices for correctness where applicable\n\nConduct quarterly inventory on products for costs and amounts used\n\nDo price checks, return carts from the parking lot, and sack for customers as needed\n\nAssist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned\n\nAdhere to all Hy-Vee policies and individual store guidelines\n\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\n\nYour Skills\nTo be successful, you'll need to be able to:\nSolve practical problems and interpret instructions across a variety of situations with limited standardization\n\nAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers accurately\n\nUnderstand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing\n\nWork effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and running smoothly\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers\nEducation and Experience\nNo education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeed\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis role is performed throughout the store and surrounding exterior areas. You will have regular exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, dirt, and cleaning chemicals or solvents.
