In this role, you'll keep equipment, dishes, utensils, and the work area spotless so the rest of the team can focus on delivering great food and service to every customer.\nIf you take pride in a clean workspace, work well as part of a team, and enjoy staying active throughout your shift, we'd love to have you on our team.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nProvide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one\n\nWash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans thoroughly and consistently\n\nHandle food safely and ensure the work area is always clean and neat\n\nRemove trash in a timely manner and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area\n\nAnswer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call\n\nWork with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment\n\nAssist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned\n\nMaintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines\n\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\n\nYour Skills\nTo be successful, you'll need to be able to:\nFollow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables\n\nPerform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately\n\nUnderstand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing\n\nWork effectively as part of a team to keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Manager; Market Grille Department Manager; Assistant Market Grille Department Manager\nEducation and Experience\nNo education requirement; six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis role is performed in a kitchen environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals or solvents, temperature extremes, and possible electrical hazards.
