You'll be the face of Hy-Vee at the customer's door, making sure every order arrives safely, on time, and with the kind of friendly service that keeps customers coming back. From organizing and loading orders to navigating deliveries and handling payments, your work directly impacts customer satisfaction.\nIf you enjoy being on the go, take pride in doing things right, and love making someone's day a little easier, this could be a great fit for you.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nDeliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and going the extra mile to make every interaction a positive one\n\nOrganize, gather, and load online orders, ensuring all items are stored at the proper temperature throughout the entire process\n\nDeliver products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and customer delivery requests\n\nValidate customer age and gather required information for orders containing alcohol\n\nCollect payment, make change, and return payments and beginning cash to the store as needed\n\nSelect, scan, and bag items from all temperature zones and process customer orders through the POS system as needed\n\nMaintain the cleanliness and upkeep of delivery vehicles, inside and out\n\nSubstitute products for customers upon request or when items are unavailable\n\nMaintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies\n\nAssist with other tasks and special projects as needed\n\nYou'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, and Online Shopping Department Manager\n\nYour Skills\nTo be successful in this role, you'll need to be able to:\nDeliver outstanding customer service and represent Hy-Vee with professionalism at every stop\n\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with customers in person and over the phone\n\nStay organized, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with limited supervision\n\nIdentify problems and find practical solutions on the fly\n\nNavigate routes efficiently and adapt to varying delivery conditions\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\n\nMust possess a valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions and be 21 years of age or older\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, and Online Shopping Department Manager\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\n\nValid driver's license with no DOT restrictions required; must be 21 years of age or older\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is an active, on-the-go role with continuous exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, and equipment movement hazards. There is significant pressure to deliver product in a timely manner. The role requires frequent entry and exit from a delivery vehicle, traversing staircases and uneven terrain to reach delivery destinations.
