In this role, you'll mix, cut, and fry donuts to order, working at a fast pace and taking pride in a consistent, quality product.\nIf you are a self-starter who works well independently, takes pride in doing things right, and enjoys being part of a hardworking bakery team, we'd love to have you on board.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nProvide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one\n\nMix, cut, and fry donuts to be sold to customers\n\nReview special orders and prepare them as needed\n\nMaintain a clean, organized work area throughout your shift\n\nAnswer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call\n\nWork with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment\n\nPerform other job-related duties and special projects as required\n\nMaintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines\n\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\n\nYour Skills\nTo be successful, you'll need to be able to:\nFollow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with attention to detail\n\nPerform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately\n\nUnderstand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing\n\nWork at a fast pace independently with minimal supervision\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Bakery Department Manager; Baker; Apprentice Baker\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent experience required\n\n6 months to 1 year of similar or related experience preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis role is performed in a bakery environment where you will be on your feet throughout your shift. You will have daily exposure to noise and equipment movement hazards, with weekly exposure to cleaning chemicals or solvents.
