The Information Technology department has a paid internship position available to perform updates to our existing infrastructure. These tasks include working with Active Directory, Networking, staging and deploying workstations as well as various other maintenance tasks and software updates. The position will be Monday through Friday, with travel and overnight stays. The internship will begin in mid-May and conclude in mid-August. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.\nStrong communication skills when working with store and corporate personal.\nBasic understanding of network devices (switches, firewalls, and routers).\nBasic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals.\nBasic knowledge of Imaging and applying updates to servers and workstations.\nBasic knowledge of a scripting language. Example: Bash or PowerShell\nAbility to troubleshoot issues and communicate the issue effectively with supporting staff.\nComplete required maintenance tasks on network system devices.\nQualifications include working toward, or recently acquired, a degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering or some other technical degree program.\nSelected candidates will work up to, and potentially exceeding 40 hours per week.\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:\nCommitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company\nMust have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interprets instructions\nMust be able to perform arithmetic and calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages\nThis position requires strong computer and analytical skills.
