From unloading trucks and rotating product to tagging shelves and keeping the backroom in order, your work directly shapes the shopping experience our customers count on.\nIf you enjoy staying active, work well as part of a team, and take pride in a job well done, this could be a great fit for you.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nDeliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need\n\nAssist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along any feedback or requests to the team\n\nUnload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshness\n\nMonitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly\n\nOrganize stock for greatest efficiency and clean and restock any damaged items\n\nTag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers\n\nReport new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input\n\nWork alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, efficient overnight operation\n\nMaintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies\n\nAssist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed\n\nYou'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Perishables, Store Operations, and E-commerce, and Overnight Stock Manager\n\nYour Skills\nYou don't need prior experience for this role! We'll happily train and support you as you grow. To be successful, you'll need to be able to:\nFollow written and verbal instructions with confidence\n\nUse basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages\n\nCommunicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way\n\nStay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy overnight shift\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Health Wellness Home, Perishables, Store Operations, and E-commerce, and Overnight Stock Manager\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\n\nUp to six months of similar or related work experience preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance\n\nContinuously stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment (required operator certification must be completed prior to independent use)\n\nWork in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades to cut, trim, or grind product\n\nWhere applicable to the role, and in accordance with applicable age and legal requirements: operate a cardboard baler or compactor\n\nWhere applicable to the role: perform repetitive motions associated with dough mixing, scaling, and proofing\n\nAbility to unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is a physically demanding, hands-on role performed primarily during overnight hours. You may encounter daily exposure to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, and cleaning chemicals or solvents, with occasional exposure to temperature extremes and potential electrical shock. The role involves working with and around heavy store equipment.
