In this role, you'll fill prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assist with inventory and quality assurance, and help deliver the exceptional patient care that Hy-Vee is known for.\nIf you are an enrolled pharmacy student who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient health, we'd love to have you on our team.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nProvide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one\n\nFill and help process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in accordance with all state and federal statutes and regulations\n\nPrepare prescriptions and affix labels to prescription containers\n\nReport any medication errors to appropriate personnel\n\nAssist with inventory control including ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering inventory information\n\nAssist with monthly inventory and follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs\n\nAssist in training pharmacy employees\n\nMaintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area\n\nMaintain the confidentiality of customers' private medical information and prescription drug pricing in accordance with HIPAA\n\nWork with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies\n\nMaintain a professional appearance at all times\n\nAssist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned\n\nAdhere to all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines\n\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\n\nYour Skills\nApply logical and scientific thinking to solve problems involving both abstract and concrete variables\n\nPerform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations accurately\n\nCompose original correspondence, follow technical manuals, and evaluate technical data\n\nCounsel and advise customers and interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members\n\nMaintain a high level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential patient and financial information\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Pharmacy Department Manager\nEducation and Experience\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy required\n\nRegistered with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern required\n\nSix months or less of similar or related work experience preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in the pharmacy and dispensing area, including extended periods at a pharmacy counter or workstation while filling and processing prescriptions\n\nAbility to count, pour, package, and label medications, and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, in accordance with state and federal pharmacy regulations\n\nExposure to bloodborne pathogens and sharps (needles, lancets) associated with pharmacy operations and, where certified, immunization administration\n\nAbility to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is a fast-paced role in a retail pharmacy where you will handle multiple tasks throughout your shift including filling prescriptions, answering the telephone, and assisting customers. You will have frequent exposure to noise and occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals or solvents.
