To support retail we must continuously review our supply chain/purchasing practices to ensure we are operating as efficiently as possible while maintaining excellent customer service to our stores and ultimately our customers. We have an internship position available, located at the West Des Moines corporate office, to assist in the procurement department with buying analysis and program efficiencies. This Monday through Friday opportunity will be 40 hours per week. This internship is part of the Hy-Vee Supply Chain Internship program, which includes tours of Hy-Vee’s facilities and organized networking opportunities.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nResearch Vendor and Buying Efficiencies\nProvide the Purchasing group with timely analytics and fact-based evaluations to make strategic, tactical decisions\nPerform cost and performance analysis specific to purchasing operations\nCollaborate with supply chain functions (demand planning, product supply, transportation) to optimize purchasing objectives (inventory levels, minimize out of stocks).\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\nThe Successful Candidate will have:\nStrong interpersonal communication skills and analytical thinking\nStrong knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook\nGeneral computer skills including the ability to learn internal applications\nStrong critical thinking and problem solving skills\nAbility to gather and analyze data and report results\nStrong written/verbal
