You will play a key role in shaping user-centered solutions across Hy-Vee.com, the Hy-Vee mobile app, and other digital platforms. This role emphasizes strong interaction design, applied research, and strategic collaboration across product, engineering, and business partners. Senior Designers are expected to independently drive complex projects, influence design decisions, and elevate UX maturity across teams.\nReporting Relationships:\nAccountable and Reports to: Senior User Experience Manager\nDirect Reports: None\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nLead UX efforts on complex initiatives across the shopper journey\nCollaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineers, and stakeholders to define problems and shape solutions\nAdvocate for user-centered design practices and articulate the value of UX to partners\nPlan, conduct, and synthesize user research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods\nCreate high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes\nFacilitate and contribute to design critiques, providing thoughtful and actionable feedback\nConduct and analyze usability testing to identify and prioritize improvements\nTranslate research insights and data into clear design recommendations\nPresent design concepts and research findings to cross-functional audiences\nPartner with developers to ensure design intent, quality, and accessibility standards are met\nContribute to and help evolve the Design System and UX standards\nStay current on UX trends, best practices, and accessibility guidelines\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience\n6-9 years of related user experience design experience\nPhysical Requirements:\nVisual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.\nMust be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.\nMust be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills required.\nCommitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company.\nStrong interpersonal skills.
