In this role, you'll take orders, serve meals, prepare drinks, and make sure every customer leaves satisfied.\nIf you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love connecting with people, and take pride in delivering a great dining experience, we'd love to have you on our team.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nGreet guests with a smile, learn their names, and create a warm, welcoming experience from the moment they are seated\n\nPresent menus to guests, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request\n\nTake food and beverage orders from guests, memorize or enter orders into the computer system for transmittal to kitchen staff\n\nServe food and beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required\n\nPrepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests and chill bottles of wine as needed\n\nCheck with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and take action to correct any issues\n\nVerify guest identification to ensure minimum age requirements are met for the consumption of alcoholic beverages\n\nPrepare itemized checks, collect payment from guests, and accurately report tip income\n\nClean tables and counters after guests have finished dining\n\nStock service areas with supplies including coffee, food, tableware, and linens\n\nStay knowledgeable of all menu items including bar offerings where applicable\n\nWash dishes and order product and supplies as necessary\n\nAnswer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to guests who call\n\nWork with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment\n\nMaintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines\n\nReport to work when scheduled and on time\n\nYour Skills\nFollow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables\n\nPerform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately\n\nUnderstand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing\n\nWork effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Manager; Market Grille Department Manager; Assistant Market Grille Department Manager; Service Managers\nEducation and Experience\nNo education requirement; 0 to 2 years of related work experience preferred\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is a fast-paced role in a store restaurant environment where you will be on your feet and in constant contact with guests and team members throughout your shift.
