Whether you're rotating product, checking in deliveries, or helping a customer find what they need, your work makes a real difference every single day.\nIf you enjoy staying active, take pride in a job well done, and thrive working as part of a team, we'd love to have you on our team.\nWhat You'll Do\nNo two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:\nDeliver outstanding customer service by greeting every customer with a smile, assisting them with their needs, and going the extra mile to make their shopping experience a great one\n\nReview the status and appearance of merchandise for freshness and replenish and rotate product to maintain quality standards\n\nEnsure an adequate product supply is ready and on hand; develop or follow a production list and anticipate daily product needs for the department\n\nCheck in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed\n\nPrepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary\n\nPractice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean, neat, and safe at all times\n\nRemove trash in a timely manner and assist with general department upkeep\n\nOrder product and supplies and price products for customers as needed\n\nAnswer the phone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call\n\nFollow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines\n\nPitch in with other tasks or special projects as they come up\n\nYour Skills\nYou don't need extensive experience for this role; we'll provide the training you need to succeed. To hit the ground running, you'll need to be able to:\nBring commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and a genuine passion for helping customers\n\nFollow written and verbal instructions carefully and with attention to detail\n\nApply basic math skills including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording\n\nCommunicate clearly with customers and co-workers and contribute positively to the team\n\nLearn and apply proper sanitation, food safety, and department procedures\n\nReporting Relationships\nAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, Health Wellness Home; Produce Department Manager; Assistant Produce Department Manager\nEducation and Experience\nLess than high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted\n\nSix months or less of similar or related work experience; we'll provide all the training you need to succeed\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation\n\nWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment\n\nWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards\n\nPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties\n\nWorking Environment\nThis is a fast-moving role where things stay busy and engaging. You'll work in the produce department and can expect frequent exposure to temperature extremes and dampness, as well as possible equipment movement hazards, electrical equipment, and cleaning chemicals and solvents.
