Our dedicated team designs and manufactures innovative, reliable solutions tailored to our customers’ needs.\nThe Application Engineer / Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting customer applications, new design requirements, technical sales opportunities, and cross-functional product execution for hydraulic solutions. This role serves as a technical liaison between customers, sales, product management, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with customer requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nApplication Design and Technical Execution\nExecute and manage new application designs and customer-specific requirements.\nAnalyze and interpret customer technical requirements from inquiries, specifications, and application details.\nEnsure solutions meet technical, quality, and manufacturability expectations.\nProvide engineering analysis and technical recommendations for equipment applications and customer requirements.\nSales, Customer, and Product Support\nProvide technical support for sales inquiries, customer questions, equipment applications, and hydraulic system requirements.\nDevelop effective working relationships with customers, distributors, regional sales managers, and internal stakeholders.\nSupport product line strategies and growth initiatives.\nQuoting, Vendor, and Cross-Functional Coordination\nTechnically evaluate vendor bids and support quotation activities for hydraulic products and customer applications.\nCoordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other departments to confirm quoted products are viable.\nAssist in preparing technical reports, business correspondence, and application documentation as needed.\nAdditional Expectations\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTravel 30%-40% of the time, approximately one week per month.\nWork onsite in Schaumburg, IL.\nRequirements\nTo be considered for the Application Engineer / Sales Engineer role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field required; engineering degree preferred.\n1-2 years of related experience and/or training required; 5 years of industry experience preferred.\nExperience with hydraulics or pneumatics required.\nExperience with database software, MRP systems\nExperience with schematic and modeling software, project management software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, design, and project management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, written instructions, oral instructions, diagrams, and schedules.\nSalary is commensurate with experience, with a range of $95,000-$115,000.
