Eligible first day of the month following hire date.\nJOIN A TOP WORKPLACE -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nlFHnnfvhk\nEHS SPECIALIST\nThe EHS Specialist is responsible for the effective deployment of the Hydrite Environmental, Health, and Safety program to ensure a safe working environment for our Terre Haute team and ensure facility compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.\n Primary responsibilities include:\nImplement and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, permits, policies, and procedures.\nIdentify and address workplace hazards through observations, audits, risk assessments, and employee engagement.\nPromote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard prevention, effective controls, employee involvement, and continuous improvement.\nLead incident and near-miss investigations, including root-cause identification, corrective actions, and timely follow-up.\nManage environmental permits and facility compliance requirements.\nManage key safety and regulatory programs, including Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Program (RMP), Management of Change (MOC), and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities.\nCoordinate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), PPE assessments and certifications, industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic assessments, and product/process-specific compliance audits.\nManage confined space rescue and emergency response programs, ensuring required training, equipment, documentation, and responder qualifications are maintained.\nCoordinate First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) programs, including training, equipment, vaccinations, and required documentation.\nSupport contractor safety and ensure contractor management requirements are followed.\nServe as a primary point of contact for regulatory agency inspections.\nCoordinate required medical monitoring programs, including hearing testing and respirator requirements.\nSupport RCRA compliance, chemical waste disposal, waste profiling, wastewater compliance, and other environmental initiatives.\nLead Safety Committee meetings and partner with Operations leadership to identify and address safety concerns and improvement opportunities.\nParticipate in the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and coordinate with local emergency response organizations as needed.\nProvide EHS training and guidance to employees and leaders across the facility.\nREPORTING STRUCTURE\nThis position reports to the Regional EHS Manager.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field required.\n3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA, and DOT regulatory requirements.\nWorking knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with employees, leadership, and regulatory agencies.\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nAbility to obtain Wastewater Operator Certification.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day.\nAbility to climb ladders and stairs up to 30 feet in height, up to 10 times daily.\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.\nAbility to wear a respirator when required without restrictions and meet applicable facial hair requirements for proper respirator fit.\nAbility to meet DOT vision requirements.\nAdditional Expectations\nUphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.\nParticipate in required RCRA, regulatory, health and safety, and process training.\nFollow applicable standard operating procedures and safety requirements.\nMaintain regular and reliable attendance.\nWork collaboratively across departments and provide backup support as needed.\nSupport effective communication across Hydrite departments to ensure the success of the facility and broader team.\nADDITIONAL BENEFITS\nBenefits and perks include 401k and profit sharing, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, legal services insurance, scholarship awards for children of employees, summer picnic, community giving events, free family wellness coaching including nutritionist and fitness coach.\nWANT TO STAY CONNECTED?
