Remove chocks and nose stand before driving away from shipping dock or designated area.\nObtains shipping bills of lading and necessary signatures and returns completed paperwork to shipping office. Maintains any related record required by DOT Laws.\nPerforms pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Reports any maintenance issues to the Transportation Supervisor.\nMay switch empty and full trailers in shipping yard during off shifts to support optimum loading patterns for the following day.\nOperates within a 100 air-mile radius.\nWhat will make you successful?\nMust be able to understand and follow basic commands in English.\nMust be able to complete required checklist of duties and responsibilities.\nMust have basic math skills and be able to use a calculator and read a tape measure.\nMust be able to work effectively in a team environment.\nValid state issued Class A CDL required.\nOregon HazMat endorsement required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.\nStrong tact and diplomacy when interacting with customer personnel at delivery locations.\nHigh degree of attention to detail and considerable dexterity in operating tractor trailers and preventing damage to materials and equipment.\nAbility to sit in a trailer cab for an extended period of time.\nAbility to operate forklifts and Combi’s, training provided.\nAbility to lift and move 40-lb wooden skid or pallet.\nMust be able to meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical requirements.\nAbility to pass pre-employment and ongoing random on-going drug and alcohol screenings.\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
