Responsible for producing quality pieces and operating all equipment in the safest manner possible. Responsible for helping CNC Supervisor run the Department efficiently.\nHourly Rate: $23.76\nWhat you will be doing\nCNC Technician must maintain all cnc machine tools in operation by recovering equipment from CNCrelated alarm stops. Must respond to machine alarms in a timely manner.\nAssist the supervisor with assigning specific jobs to production personnel to meet production schedules.\nInstruct production personnel in proper operation of machines and/or tools required to perform assigned job duties.\nAssist the supervisor in cross training associates as well as assisting the Supervisor to keep associates current on their Hydro Safety training.\nStop production and contact the Supervisor when quality problems are detected.\nInform maintenance personnel and/or toolmakers when machines and/or tools break down.\nExhibit a professional and positive approach at all times.\nMust be willing to cross-train on other jobs throughout the plant, as needed.\nWhen conditions dictate, overtime may be required (with little or no prior notification).\nMake certain all-applicable safety equipment is in proper working order before operating a tool.\nMake periodic checks to ensure assembled component parts match the samples supplied by the Supervisor, or Set-Up Person. Perform all required SPC.\nCheck the material to ensure that it is not defective.\nStop production and contact the Supervisor person when quality problems arise.\nEnsure that correct Hydro Extrusion part numbers, customer part numbers, and piece counts are marked on each rack, cart, or skid that is sent to the next internal operation or packaged for shipment.\nProperly identify and account for all scrap before leaving the area or the general production area.\nWork to increase productivity and quality in the assembly area and/or the general production area.\nMake suggestions to improve the quantity and quality of finished product.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nA high school diploma is required.\n2-3 years prior CNC set up experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is required. \nMust be able to read and understand blue prints.\nMust have working knowledge of M and G codes.\nMust be able to complete set-ups from blue prints as well as work instructions.\nMust be able to modify existing programs.\nMust be able to use hand tools.\nMust have knowledge of quality measuring instruments such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.\nMust understand quality documents and systems.\nMust be able to read/write small numbers and letters. Must be able to make arithmetic calculations.\nMust be able to perform several tasks simultaneously.\nMust be able to respond quickly to problems; ability to work in a stressful environment.\nMust be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers in both written and verbal form.\nMust be able to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.\nMust pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical exam.
