This includes, but is not limited to, directing the work of two or more other full-time employees (or their equivalent) in the department, managing the performance of the employees in the department, actively participating in staffing decisions impacting the department by providing input into decisions related to hiring, advancement and/or termination other employees, and leading the team to drive productivity, safety, and quality excellence. This role is responsible for aligning team goals with the department’s production goals, optimizing processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of safety and ensuring alignment with department and organization-wide objectives. The Conduit Supervisor shall be able to oversee the department in the absence of the Manager.\nWhat we offer you\nMedical, Rx, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts\nRetirement Savings Plans with Company Match/Contributions\nEducation Assistance\nBonus Plan Eligibility\nParental Leave\nWhat you will be doing\nDirect the work of Team Leads and hourly team members, by communicating and holding employees accountable to production objectives, safety priorities, and operational updates.\nProvide leadership, mentorship, and performance coaching to employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.\nChampion a safety-first culture by ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, company policies, and driving proactive risk management strategies.\nLead and optimize production activities to consistently achieve strategic goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enhancing overall operational efficiency.\nMonitor production processes, implementing corrective actions to resolve issues related to quality, efficiency, and equipment, and driving process improvements.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity.\nIn-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and process optimization techniques.\nEnglish (both spoken and written), additional language(s) preferred.\nLess than 10%.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nProven experience in aluminum extrusion, casting, or related industries is highly preferred.\nIn-depth knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems for data analysis and reporting.\nExpertise in safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments, ensuring compliance and a safe working culture.\nStrong ability to interpret technical drawings and use measurement tools (e.g., tape measure) for precise production processes.\nExtensive hands-on experience with industrial equipment and tools, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and process optimization.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate teams.\nStrong leadership qualities with commitment to employee engagement and continuous improvement.\nProven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
