The Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise in industrial power distribution systems, including 480V and higher-voltage infrastructure, while driving projects from scope definition through execution.This position reports to Engineering Manager.\nEssential Job Responsibilities:\nLead the safe, on-time, and on-budget development and execution of capital projects.\nProvide electrical engineering and design from concept through hand-off using the established PESHA process.\nCollaborate with internal/external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to review electrical designs, evaluate equipment specifications, and support successful project execution.\nPerform engineering tasks including problem-solving, design calculations, equipment selection, electrical design, proposal reviews, and drawing management.\nEnsure proper operation and safety of equipment and processes.\nRecommend and implement changes to improve manufacturing value, electrical system reliability and system performance.\nEnsure processes are capable, controlled, and meet delivery and cost targets.\nBe present on the shop floor as needed, including accessing equipment via ladders or high reaches to evaluate progress and troubleshoot issues.\nManage contractors to ensure safe and productive execution of work.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nAt least 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment as an electrical engineer.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nExperience reviewing, evaluating, and providing technical recommendations on electrical designs for industrial equipment and manufacturing systems. \nExperience managing million dollar capital projects.\nExperience with industrial power distribution systems, including 480V distribution and/or medium-voltage systems.\n\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
