This role supports HR processes, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, training, recordkeeping, safety programs, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, and workforce engagement while helping ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.\nWhat you will be doing\nFoster collaborative culture where all employees follow company health and safety programs, policies and procedures.\nProvide HR/HSE administrative support, employee recordkeeping, onboarding, data entry, benefits support, payroll coordination for union specific requirements, reporting, and employee relations assistance. \nCollaborate with shared services and other plant functions to provide positive work environment. \nMaintain HR and HSE documentation to ensure compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. \nServe as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, workplace concerns, and safety matters.\nImmediately alert management of any serious health, safety, or HR issue and present effective solutions for implementation.\nCoordinate training programs including new hire orientation, HR policy training, safety training, and regulatory compliance training. \nFacilitate onboarding programs ensuring employees receive proper safety training, understanding of company policies, and have access to necessary resources. \nMaintain records databases: safety records, training records, performance reviews, incident reports, evacuation documentation, payroll, attendance and compliance reports. \nConduct safety inspections, audits, Job Hazard Analyses, and workplace observations to identify risks and improvement opportunities. \nInvestigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and workers compensation cases; determine root causes and track corrective actions. \nOrganize and maintain labor relations documentation, ensuring alignment with CBA-mandated processes.\nFacilitate safety committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives. \nGenerate HR and HSE metrics, reports, and trend analyses for management. \nSupport continuous improvement projects related to workforce effectiveness, safety performance, and compliance. \nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.\n2+ years of HR, Health & Safety manufacturing administration, or related field, preferably in a unionized or manufacturing environment, where applicable.\nEnglish required; additional language skills are a plus.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nSHRM-CP, PHR, ASP, CSP, CIH, RIHP, or equivalent certifications.\nFamiliarity with HR policies, labor laws (FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA), and collective bargaining agreements, if applicable.\nProficiency in HRIS, payroll systems (e.g., Kronos, ADP, UltiPro, Workday), and Microsoft Office Suite.\nStrong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, incident management, and training administration. \nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance.\nTravel Minimal (less than 10%)\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee concerns.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining compliance.\nStrong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to HR/HSE support functions.\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
