Since 1905, Hydro has turned natural resources into valuable products for people and businesses with focus on a safe and good workplace for our 30,000 employees in more than 140 locations.\nWhat we offer you\nMedical, Rx, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts\nRetirement Savings Plans with Company Match/Contributions\nEducation Assistance\nBonus Plan Eligibility\nParental Leave\nJob Summary:\nThe HSE/Quality Coordinator will provide safety training, conduct audits and make HSE/Quality recommendations to ensure all team members are working in a safe environment promoting health and safety for all individuals.\nWhat you will be doing\nFoster collaborative culture where all employees follow company health and safety programs, policies and procedures.\nImmediately alert management of any serious health or safety issue and present effective solutions for implementation.\nMaintain working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.\nConduct and document Job Hazard Analyses to be used in production environments.\nInvestigate accidents and incidents to determine root cause and document effective corrective and preventative actions.\nFacilitate effective safety committee program across multiple departments.\nObserve and coach department managers and employees in hazard recognition identifying possible safety concerns and areas of improvement.\nMaintain health and safety records, including training, evacuations, and accident/incident records.\nManage industrial hygiene programs, including hearing conservation and respiratory protection\nSupporting Region HSE Manager and Plant Manager in safety functions in plant.\nAudits facilities for OSHA, fire, environmental, and local safety regulatory compliance to include ergonomics and hazardous material handling.\nResearch industry best practices and training procedures so that the company meets or exceeds compliance regulations. Support all company safety programs, policies and procedures and ensure they are effectively communicated to all employees. Immediately alert management to any serious safety issues and works to implement effective solutions.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations involving manufacturing in a heavy industry environment.\nAbility to write and revise Job Hazard Analyses to be used in production.\nProvide support for all environmental related recordkeeping and administration to include compliance with permits, operating conditions, sampling and regulatory standards.\nConducts investigations and analysis of safety related accidents/incidents to determine root cause and documents in internal Incident Management System (IMS)\nMaintains current and accurate information on the company’s IMS website.\nConduct periodic environmental health and safety inspections and support department to follow action plans ensuring all safety and environmental issues are resolved.\nDevelop and provide company-wide training to employees in accordance with OSHA, environmental regulations and company standards.\nActs as a teacher and trainer on the floor daily to create sustainable change for all health and safety programs.\nRecommends policies and procedures and advises senior staff regarding injury trends and risk assessments.\nAct as Workers Compensation liaison by collecting, managing, and submitting claim information.\nAudits facilities for OSHA, fire, environmental, and local safety regulatory compliance to include ergonomics and hazardous material handling.\nResearch industry best practices and training procedures so that the company meets or exceeds compliance regulations.\nPartner with The Plant Manager, Fabrication Manager, and or Supply Chain Mgr to conduct WOC’s auditing SOP’s and Load List / Bill of Lading fulfillment.\nMaintain the highest standards of ethical behavior and compliance.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Fabrication Manager and or Supply Chain Mgr.\nRole is 90% HSE focused, approximately 10% Quality focused.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nA minimum of two (2) years HSE/Quality experience in an industrial, manufacturing or fabrication focused work environment or equivalent work experience in an industrial setting.\nFamiliarity with quality testing and inspection procedures is a plus\nStrong math, problem-solving, and computer skills\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nBachelor's or Associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Safety Management, or a related field.\nCertification in Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Industrial Hygiene Professional (RIHP) preferred.\nApplied understanding of, and experience with, ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 certification, Intellect operating system, and document control.\nApplied technical writing skills and experience with document revisions and history management.\nApplied experience with environmental sampling with a strong background and knowledge in environmental compliance.\nApplied experience with specialty HSE programs.\nUnderstanding of, and experience with, the Workers Compensation process.\nApplied workplace safety and OSHA regulations knowledge to include experience implementing the following critical safety programs: lockout/tagout, fall protection, confined space, hazard communication, mobile equipment and machine guarding.\nMSOffice and proprietary computer skills.\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
