And as Ontario’s largest municipally-owned producer of green power, we are leading the way to a greener tomorrow.\nWe are seeking an Operations Business Intelligence Engineer, a strategic thinker who can take initiatives from concept to completion and engineer the way to a smart energy future.\nAre you ready to make a difference in our community?\nJOB SUMMARY\nThe Operations Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer contributes to the development and maintenance of business performance measures for the Distribution division to drive operational excellence. Handling highly sensitive operational and financial data, this role delivers actionable insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, quality, accuracy and safety.\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES\nPartner with internal stakeholders to evaluate and document operational program performance.\nMine, integrate and analyze complex enterprise data across multiple source systems to uncover critical business insights that enhance performance in areas such as safety, quality and productivity. \nProvide strategic recommendations on new or improved processes that drive operational excellence.\nContribute to the development of the Distribution division’s overall performance management framework.\nIdentify and map source requirements necessary for reporting of key performance indicators, operational performance and balanced scorecard measures \nCompile, maintain and analyze data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting against key performance indicators and balanced scorecard measures.\nDesign, deploy, and maintain operational dashboards to enable self-serve analytics.\nSafeguard sensitive operational and financial data, maintaining compliance with data security and governance standards. \nPerform other related duties as required.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nUndergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited university\nProfessional Engineer, licensed or able to be licensed in the province of Ontario\nFamiliarity with dashboarding software such as PowerBI and/or Tableau\nProven experience in process documentation or business case writing\nFamiliarity with Matlab/C++/Python considered an asset\nFamiliarity with SQL considered an asset\nExperience data mining considered an asset\nExperience within the utility industry considered an asset \nStrong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably Google Workspace\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS\nEnglish essential, both oral and written; Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset\nThis is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.\nHydro Ottawa offers a Hybrid Work Model.
