This role oversees a team of PM technicians responsible for maintaining Hydro aluminum extrusion presses, cast house equipment, age ovens, and paint line operations. The PM Supervisor ensures preventive maintenance activities are completed safely, effectively, and on schedule while driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce unplanned downtime, improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and support production goals. Acting as a key liaison between maintenance and operations, this position leverages CMMS data, equipment performance metrics, and preventive maintenance best practices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.\nEssential Job Responsibilities:\nLead and manage the preventive maintenance program for Hydro extrusion presses (Presses 81, 82, 83, 84, and 85) to ensure critical systems are inspected, serviced, and maintained.\nOversee daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance activities on hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, accumulators, billet loaders, stretchers, and runout tables.\nMonitor equipment tolerances, alignment, lubrication schedules, and operating conditions to prevent failures and maintain product quality.\nCoordinate preventive maintenance activities across cast house operations, including furnaces, casting pits, cooling systems, and saws.\nEnsure proper maintenance of age ovens, heating systems, temperature controls, circulation equipment, and safety interlocks.\nManage preventive maintenance schedules and inspections for paint line equipment, including pretreatment systems, application booths, cure ovens, and conveyors.\nSupervise, coach, and develop a team of PM technicians while assigning daily priorities and supporting workforce development.\nConduct daily planning meetings and coordinate maintenance priorities with production and operations teams.\nEnsure compliance with safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and maintenance SOPs.\nUtilize CMMS systems to create, assign, track, and close preventive maintenance work orders.\nAnalyze maintenance records, PM compliance metrics, and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities.\nTrack reliability metrics including MTBF and PM completion rates to improve asset performance and reduce downtime.\nPartner with storeroom and procurement teams to maintain critical spare parts inventory and support maintenance readiness.\nSupport root cause failure analysis (RCFA) efforts and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nHigh school diploma.\nAt least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing, metals, aluminum extrusion, or related environments.\nAt least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.\nExperience working with preventative maintenance programs.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nStrong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, mechanical power transmission systems, and industrial electrical troubleshooting.\n\nExperience with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automated production systems.\n\nKnowledge of reliability metrics, preventive maintenance optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nExperience using CMMS platforms such as SAP, Maximo, Fiix, or similar systems.\n\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
