Through our unique combination of local expertise, global network, and unmatched R&D capabilities, we can offer everything from standards profiles to advanced development and manufacturing for most industries. Since 1905, Hydro has turned natural resources into valuable products for people and businesses with focus on a safe and good workplace for our 30,000 employees in more than 140 locations.\nWhat we offer you\nMedical, Rx, Dental, Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts\nRetirement Savings Plans with Company Match/Contributions\nEducation Assistance\nBonus Plan Eligibility\nParental Leave\nWhat you will be doing\nJob Summary: The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and performance of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, control systems, and safety infrastructure. This role develops and continuously improves preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize asset performance, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment life in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Working closely with maintenance and operations teams, the Reliability Engineer will lead and support Continuous Reliability Improvement (CRI) initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, improving preventive maintenance effectiveness, and driving improvements in mean time between failures (MTBF). Serving as a technical resource to maintenance teams and stakeholders, the Reliability Engineer provides engineering expertise to address day-to-day maintenance challenges, identify potential equipment failures before they impact production, support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts, improve hydraulic and pneumatic system reliability, reduce breakdowns and delays, and support safe, reliable plant operations.\nEssential Job Responsibilities:\nDevelopment and refinement of the preventive/predictive maintenance program in a systematic, professional manner - coordinating all efforts with equipment custodians and maintenance management to ensure the program is properly approved and endorsed by both departments. \nCoordination with planner/schedulers to ensure that correct PM/PdM services and inspections are scheduled and performed when due. \nAdministration, control and analysis of all data, records and equipment histories to continually review and refine PM/PdM frequencies. \nDevelopment of engineering solutions to repetitive equipment failures and other reliability problems; implementing ways of reducing the need for maintenance and ultimately eliminating the occurrence of failures. Repetitive failures are identified and the PM/PdM program is refined by:Review of predictive and other inspections \nAnalysis of equipment histories, maintenance cost reports, and failure reports \nReview of service and inspections records.\nAnalysis of work order data \n\nSpecify repair techniques for major repetitive tasks, such as component replacements; develop standards specifying the end product and the resources needed for these tasks.\nEnsure responsible personnel are trained in carrying out programmed maintenance.\nReview developed PM/PdM procedures with operation superintendents and staff: securing “owner” approval prior to implementation.\nAnalyze planned idleness of operating equipment to develop and improve PM/PdM schedules. \nPeriodically compare PM/PdM frequencies to downtime reports and equipment histories to identify where frequencies require adjustment - up or down. Refine the frequencies on an “economic” basis to avoid “over maintenance”. This is a joint responsibility with the Planner. \nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering.\nAt least 5 years of reliability engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nExperience improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing asset performance.\n\nKnowledge of CMMS, predictive maintenance, and reliability metrics such as MTBF and OEE.\n\nExperience supporting extrusion operations and heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.\n\nExperience with equipment commissioning, startup, and continuous improvement projects.\n\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
