This role will provide sourcing, commodity, and supply base management expertise to ensure that all aspects of the sourcing process meet the company’s quality, surety of supply, and cost to meet procurement requirements. This role will be responsible to strategically source existing products, onboard new products and brands, control pricing and creatively initiate and execute plant strategies. A Senior Buyer must have an entrepreneurial mind, a keen understanding of industry trends, and ability to coordinate projects across multiple departments.\nWhat you will be doing\n\nDevelop annual Procurement Plan for Spanish Fork and assigned spend categories.\nDeliver Procurement support for the Spanish Fork location and departments. \nWork with operations and maintenance teams to manage and drive cost savings initiative based on the Procurement Plan.\nEnter savings projects in Provalido system and maintain project portfolio.\nEvaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and risk factors. Source alternate suppliers as needed.\nPartner with quality and finance to monitor supplier performance.\nImplement supplier sustainability initiatives.\nMaintain an efficient and reliable storeroom process.\nExecute contracts for identified suppliers.\nMaintain compliance with internal policies and procedures. Proactively identify gaps in compliance and create actions plans to remediate.\nProcess purchase orders - including conveying purchase orders to the suppliers.\nPurchase order/order acknowledgment accuracy - Verify pricing, order quantity, requested date, and supplier promised delivery date.\nReconciling and resolving all issues related to invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.\nMaintain purchasing reports - Open orders, holds report, GRNI, supplier reconciliation, etc.\nMaintain accurate supplier account status including, but not limited to:\nSet up of new suppliers.\nUpdating terms, addresses, phone numbers, point of contact, etc.\nManage and drive cost improvement initiatives by analyzing spend and purchase trends for tracking of all departments.\nAssist in Inventory process as needed.\nComply with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.\n\nWhat will make you successful?\nRequired Education/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree required; degree in Business or a related field preferred.\n\n5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a technical manufacturing role.\nLess than 10% travel.\nPreferred Skills/Qualifications:\nIntermediate analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and take action.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).\nProficiency in ERP systems with a preference for Oracle and/or SAP.\nGeneral knowledge of procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and sourcing processes.\nExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.\nStrong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadline\nStrong desire and ability to work cross functionally and influence decision makers.\nUnderstand policies and procedures and implement changes where necessary to promote a culture of compliance.\nDevelop and lead junior buyer / inventory analyst.\nEqual opportunities\nHydro in North America is an Equal Opportunity Employer where all phases of employment are based strictly upon the qualifications of the individual as related to the work requirements of the position.
