This opportunity combines hands-on Java development with Azure cloud operations, automation, and production support in a collaborative, international engineering environment.\nWe’re looking for a developer who enjoys taking ownership beyond writing code, understands how systems behave in production, and is motivated to continuously improve service reliability and performance.\n📍 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden\n🏢 Work model: Hybrid – approximately 50% remote, with at least 2 days per week in the office\n📅 Assignment period: 26 October 2026 – 31 October 2027\n🎯 Seniority level: Intermediate\n🗣️ Working language: English\n🎯 About the Role\nYou will join a high-performing engineering team responsible for developing, deploying, and operating cloud-based services that support connected vehicle solutions for a global automotive customer.\nWorking across the full software lifecycle, you will contribute to backend development, cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement.\nThis is an ideal role for a Java Developer who also enjoys DevOps and operational responsibilities.\n🔧 Key Responsibilities\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance backend services and supporting components using Java.\nWork with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application environments.\nParticipate actively in operating production services, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.\nMonitor and troubleshoot production systems, including investigating and resolving incidents.\nImprove observability through logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.\nAutomate operational tasks and improve deployment workflows and processes.\nConduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions to reduce recurring incidents.\nCollaborate with developers, architects, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to improve service quality.\nTake end-to-end ownership of technical problems and drive them through to resolution.\nContribute to consistent operational processes and continuous improvement across the engineering organisation.\nSkills & requirements\n✅ Required Skills & Qualifications\nStrong hands-on experience in Java software development.\nPractical experience with Microsoft Azure.\nGood understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.\nExperience with containers and cloud-native technologies.\nKnowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools and practices.\nExperience troubleshooting distributed systems and production issues.\nExperience with automation and scripting.\nFamiliarity with Git and modern software development practices.\nProficiency in English, both written and spoken.\n👤 Our Ideal Candidate\nYou are a curious, pragmatic, and proactive engineer who enjoys working across development and operations.
