the Role :\n\nAs a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will own meaningful parts of the Rocketlane product from design through production.\n\nResponsibilities :\n\n- Design and build features end-to-end across our React frontend and Java backend.\n\n- Work closely with Product and Design to turn customer problems into simple, thoughtful product experiences.\n\n- Build polished, performant user experiences for complex SaaS workflows.\n\n- Design clean APIs, data models, and backend services that can scale as our customers and usage grow.\n\n- Solve challenging product problems involving real-time collaboration, rich interactive experiences, workflow automation, large datasets, and highly configurable enterprise use cases.\n\n- Make thoughtful architectural decisions across frontend, backend, database, caching, and asynchronous processing.\n\n- Own the performance and reliability of what you build from browser performance through API latency and database queries.\n\n- Debug complex issues across the entire stack rather than stopping at service boundaries.\n\n- Write maintainable, well-tested code and raise the quality bar through thoughtful code reviews.\n\n- Identify technical debt and proactively improve architecture, developer experience, observability, and engineering productivity.\n\n- Mentor engineers and help the team make better technical decisions.\n\n- Take ownership of features in production and work with the team to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.\n\n- Participate actively in engineering design discussions and influence how Rocketlane's technology evolves.\n\nRequirements:\n\n- We're looking for an engineer who has strong depth in at least one part of the stack, solid engineering fundamentals across the others, and the ability to independently take a customer problem from problem design, architecture, backend, frontend, and production.\n\nFrontend Stack :\n\n- React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, SPA architecture, component design, HTML/CSS, state management, browser fundamentals, frontend performance profiling.\n\nBackend Stack :\n\n- Java, Spring, HTTP/REST API design, PostgreSQL, Redis, asynchronous processing, message brokers, distributed systems fundamentals.\n\nYou'll thrive here if :\n\n- You enjoy owning problems rather than just completing tickets.\n\n- You care about both how a product works and how it feels to use.\n\n- You can move quickly without compromising engineering fundamentals.\n\n- You are comfortable working through ambiguity and breaking large problems into smaller ones.\n\n- You enjoy collaborating directly with product and design.\n\n- You are willing to dive into unfamiliar parts of the stack when the problem requires it.\n\n- You care about performance, reliability, and maintainability.\n\n- You enjoy mentoring other engineers while remaining deeply hands-on.\n\n- You like learning, experimenting, and continuously improving the way software is built.\n\nNice to have
