You’ll work with Juniper hardware, automation tools like Ansible, and smart monitoring platforms like Kentik to keep traffic flowing smoothly worldwide. You’ll be part of a 20-person team that values doing things right - automated, secure, and always evolving.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nImplementation: Deploy and maintain network configurations using automation tools like Ansible and Netbox.\n\nOperations: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across backbone and datacenter environments, from hardware to protocol layers.\n\nMonitoring & Capacity: Use tools like Kentik to monitor traffic, identify bottlenecks, and assist in capacity planning.\n\nDocumentation: Keep network documentation and diagrams up to date for operational clarity and team alignment.\n\nSecurity: Support DDoS mitigation and help enforce network security policies and practices.\n\nCollaboration: Work closely with architects, product teams, and other engineers to support network projects and customer requirements.\n\nAutomation: Assist in automating network tasks and workflows to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.\n\nCustomer Support: Working in an on-call rotation, collaborating with senior engineers on customer escalations and delivering expert-level troubleshooting when needed.\n\nTech stack\nAt i3D.net, you’ll work with:\nHardware: Juniper MX, QFX, SRX, EX; legacy includes Mellanox, Cumulus, Brocade.\n\nProtocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, L2/L3 VPNs.\n\nAutomation: Ansible, Python, JAML.\n\nTooling & Integration: Netbox, Kentik, REST APIs.\n\nDCI: ADVA & Adtran DWDM, Coherent Optics, metro connectivity.\n\nSecurity: Custom DDoS mitigation, traffic filtering, and threat detection.\n\nWhat success looks like in the first year\nYou have successfully contributed to network upgrades and datacenter expansions in close collaboration with one of our network architects.\n\nYou’ve contributed to a better automation framework that improves delivery speed and reliability.\n\nYou’re a trusted go-to for technical input in both datacenter and backbone projects.\n\nYour ideas and improvements have been adopted by peers and documented for others to build on.\n\nYou’ve helped make the team stronger through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and hands-on support.\n\nAbout You:\nEducation: You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in networking, IT, or a related field\n\nExperience: 5-7 years in network engineering, preferably in ISP or datacenter environments\n\nNetwork Skills: Solid knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN-VXLAN, and MPLS; hands-on with Juniper hardware\n\nAutomation: Experience using Ansible and Python for network changes and small-scale automation tasks\n\nTooling: Expert at using Netbox and comfortable writing, improving and maintaining scripts, and traffic monitoring tools like Kentik & Grafana\n\nTroubleshooting: You’re methodical in solving hardware and routing issues, from cable to config\n\nLinux Knowledge: Confident working in Linux environments for troubleshooting and scripting\n\nBroader Tech Insight: Familiar with storage, virtualization, and cloud fundamentals\n\nCommunication: Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required for regular collaboration with our international teams and to clearly explain technical issues. Knowledge of French is a plus\n\nCertifications: JNCIP-SP, JNCIP-DC, or similar mid-level certifications are a plus;\n\nRemote vs onsite: This is a hybrid role, so you'll spend some time working onsite at our Montréal office.
