Staff / Senior Product Engineer (UI)

We're looking for a rare kind of builder: a generalist who owns the whole arc of a product surface from the first sketch in Figma to shipped, polished web and mobile experiences. You think like a product designer, build like a senior frontend engineer across platforms, use AI to move faster than most teams can, and multiply everyone around you.

This is a hands-on senior/staff role with wide scope. You'll take products from idea to shipped, set the bar for how UI gets designed and built here, and sweat the last 5% that separates good from great. You care about the invisible work behind pretty pixels: performance, accessibility, and interactions that feel effortless.

Responsibilities:

• Own product surfaces end to end. Take features and whole flows from a rough idea to shipped. You shape the problem, design the interaction, write the code, and own the quality of the result, without needing heavy process to move.
• Design and build, as one discipline. Work fluidly between Figma and your editor. You don't wait for a spec to be perfect; you prototype the alternative, put it in front of people, and improve the design through engineering.
• Build across web and mobile with real depth. Ship performant, accessible, pixel-perfect interfaces in React/TypeScript on web, and carry that same craft to mobile (React Native and/or native). Reason clearly about cross-platform tradeoffs and responsive/adaptive design.
• Use AI as a force multiplier. Make AI-assisted development (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code) a default part of how you work, and help design AI-native product surfaces with smart suggestions, natural-language flows, and agentic assist where they genuinely improve the experience.
• Raise the bar for everyone. Own and grow the design system and shared component libraries so the whole team ships faster and more consistently. Set frontend standards, review code and designs, and lift the craft of the people around you.
• Delegate and multiply, don't bottleneck. Break large initiatives into clear, well-scoped pieces, hand them off well, and grow through others. Your impact is measured by what the team ships, not just what you personally type.
• Obsess over performance, accessibility, and polish. Treat Core Web Vitals, load performance, and WCAG accessibility as first-class requirements, not afterthoughts.

Requirements:

• 6+ years building production UIs, with real depth in React and TypeScript and a strong command of modern HTML/CSS layout, animation, interaction, and the web platform itself.
• A genuine generalist you've designed and engineered, on web and mobile, and you're comfortable owning a surface from blank canvas to production. You close the gaps at the boundaries rather than handing off.
• Real product-design sensibility: typography, layout, spacing, hierarchy, and motion, and you know what it takes to get a UI from 90% to 100%. Shipped work or a portfolio that shows this is a big plus.
• You've shipped mobile, not just talked about it, in React Native and/or native and can reason about the differences from web.
• Fluent with AI-driven development. You already use AI tools to prototype and ship faster, and you have a point of view on where they help and where they don't.
• High agency, self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity and light PM overhead, biased to action, and you push back when something doesn't feel right.
• A proven multiplier at senior/staff scope. You've mentored engineers, set technical direction, built shared systems, and delegated effectively rather than hoarding the interesting work.
• You care about performance, accessibility, and reliability as much as aesthetics, and you can't quite stand shipping bugs, big or small.

Nice to have:

• Design-systems experience at scale; animation libraries (Framer Motion / GSAP); data-dense or enterprise UI (dashboards, configurators, admin tooling); backend/BFF or API fluency that lets you move independently; prior 01 product work; and building or integrating AI features in a real product.
• Comfort collaborating with a US-based team across time zones.
