This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production and facility equipment used in the manufacturing of automotive interior plastic components.\nThe Journeyman Maintenance Technician will work on a variety of equipment including injection molding machines of varying tonnages, automated paint line systems, assembly line equipment, robotics, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, auxiliary processing equipment, and facility support systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for both reactive maintenance and preventative maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues on production equipment.\nMaintain and repair injection molding machines ranging from small to large tonnage presses.\nTroubleshoot and repair auxiliary equipment including: \nChillers\nDryers\nTemperature control units\nMaterial conveying systems\nCompressors\nRobots and automation systems\nPerform maintenance and repairs on automated paint line system and associated conveyors, pumps, ovens, and material delivery equipment.\nSupport assembly line equipment including automated fixtures, conveyors, vision systems, and leak testing equipment.\nPerform preventative maintenance (PM) activities according to established schedules and standards.\nComplete predictive and corrective maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and technical manuals.\nRepair and maintain electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, relays, control panels, and power distribution systems.\nUtilize CMMS or maintenance tracking systems to document work orders, repairs, PM activities, and parts usage.\nSupport production teams during equipment startups, changeovers, and process troubleshooting.\nEnsure compliance with all safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and environmental regulations.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles.\nParticipate in on-call, weekend, overtime, and emergency maintenance activities as required.\nRequired Qualifications\nCompletion of a U.S. Department of Labor recognized Journeyman program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Mechatronics, Millwright, Machine Repair, or a related skilled trade.\nJourneyman Card required.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance environments.\nStrong understanding of: \nMechanical systems\nElectrical systems\nHydraulics\nPneumatics\nIndustrial automation\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.\nProficient in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nComputer proficiency and ability to use maintenance management software.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in automotive manufacturing.\nExperience troubleshooting injection molding equipment and supporting systems.\nExperience with robotics and automated production systems.\nExperience with servo systems, VFDs, and industrial networking.\nForklift, aerial lift, or crane operation certification.\nWelding and fabrication experience.\nExperience supporting automated paint operations.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance.\nAbility to work at heights and operate lifts when required.\nAbility to perform work in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, heat, moving machinery, and industrial chemicals while utilizing required PPE.\nCore Competencies\nSafety Focus\nTroubleshooting and Diagnostics\nMechanical and Electrical Aptitude\nAttention to Detail\nTeamwork and Collaboration\nReliability and Accountability\nContinuous Improvement Mindset\nCommunication Skills\nTime Management\nAdaptability\nWork Environment\nThis position is based in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility producing interior plastic components through injection molding, automated paint processes, and assembly operations.
