Working across Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Enterprise Architecture, you’ll influence critical technology decisions, navigate complex trade-offs, and ensure architecture enables delivery rather than slows it down. You’ll also play an important role in strengthening our architecture practice, embracing modern technology and AI-enabled ways of working, and building the capability of our architects. This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).\nWhat You'll Do\nLead, coach, and develop a team of Solution Architects, building capability, supporting career growth, and creating a high-performing culture of collaboration, constructive challenge, and continuous learning. \nProvide architecture leadership across Retail Technology portfolios, ensuring solutions are coherent, scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise direction. \nGuide architects and delivery teams through solution options, technical trade-offs, integrations, data flows, and non-functional requirements, balancing speed, quality, cost, risk, and maintainability. \nPartner with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Delivery Leads, Platform Leads, and business stakeholders to translate strategy and business needs into practical technology outcomes. \nBring architecture into delivery early, managing demand and deploying capability across priorities to navigate architecture debt, platform constraints, technical risks, and cross-team dependencies while unblocking progress. \nAct as a bridge between Enterprise Architecture and delivery, translating target-state direction, guardrails, and platform roadmaps into pragmatic solution decisions. \nStrengthen architecture practices through reusable patterns, effective governance, modern tooling, and the adoption of AI-enabled approaches that improve architecture quality, productivity, and insight. \nWhat You'll Bring\nSignificant Solution Architecture experience in a complex enterprise environment, ideally within insurance, financial services, digital, customer, policy, or claims technology. \nDemonstrated experience leading, coaching, or managing Solution Architects, technical leads, or senior technology professionals, including capability and performance development. \nStrong architecture expertise spanning solution design, integration patterns, data flows, non-functional requirements, operational resilience, regulatory obligations, technical risk and architectural trade-offs. \nExperience with modern technology patterns including cloud platforms, API-first design, event-driven architecture, digital channels, data integration, and enterprise platforms. \nThe judgement and confidence to challenge assumptions and navigate ambiguity, making pragmatic recommendations that balance delivery speed with customer impact, cost, risk, and long-term sustainability. \nStrong stakeholder influence and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and bring technical, business, delivery, architecture and enterprise platform teams together to align complex solution needs with platform strategy, roadmaps, constraints and delivery priorities. \nExperience embedding architecture within agile delivery environments, with a practical approach to governance that provides appropriate control without creating unnecessary overhead. \nWhat We Offer\nBoosted superannuation with 13% as standard. \n20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you). \nWork from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex. \nUp to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance. \nPartner discounts on private health insurance, tech & appliances, and many more. \nIndustry-leading 20 weeks paid parental leave. \nAccess to LinkedIn Learning, the award-winning IAG Academy, study assistance and secondment opportunities. \n*employment type eligibility criteria apply\nApplications close: Thursday 22 September 2026 11:59PM AEST\nPlease note - full time, part time, and job-sharing arrangements will be considered.\n\nAdjustments and Support \nIf you require any support or adjustments to participate equitably in our recruitment process, we encourage you to reach out to  for a confidential conversation. \nMore About Us \nAs part of IAG you'll enjoy a world of career opportunities, a purpose-led place focused on creating connection and belonging, and where you can create meaningful impact every day and grow your career beyond the expected.
