We provide software development tools that help engineers develop, debug, test, and secure embedded software for products across automotive, industrial automation, medical technology, and other industries.\nAs a Field Application Engineer/Technical Support (FAE/TS), you will be the technical driving force behind our business in Taiwan and Southeast Asia (including Australia and New Zealand), as part of a small team in Taipei.\nYou will take full ownership of your customers, from technical discovery and evaluation through to technical support, working side by side with Sales as a co-driver to turn customers’ embedded development challenges into business opportunities through a proactive, solution-based approach. Working closely with silicon partners, Marketing, and our global technical support team across EMEA, the US, and APAC, you will help customers get the most out of our tools.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn the technical side of the customer journey, from discovery and evaluation to technical support, including troubleshooting and deeper investigations into compiler behavior, optimization, and debugging.\nPartner with Sales to drive the technical win: understand customers’ embedded projects, toolchains, CI/CD setups, and compliance needs, and present solutions that address their technical and business challenges.\nBuild strong relationships with engineers, R&D managers, and project leads to uncover core pain points and identify new business opportunities.\nWork with silicon partners and other ecosystem partners on joint webinars, seminars, and events that generate leads based on market need.\nKeep technical pipeline, evaluation status, and win/loss insights up to date, and act as the feedback loop between the field and IAR’s product teams.\nCollaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product Management, localize technical content for the market, and share knowledge across the APAC FAE team.\nWhat You Bring to the Table\nBSc degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, and 5+ years in a Field Application Engineer or similar technical pre-sales role.\nA solid background in embedded software development, with strong proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with compilers, debuggers, CPU architectures (Arm, RISC-V), RTOS, and/or Linux.\nExperience with customer-facing technical engagements across all sales stages, in complex customer environments.\nStrong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technology simply to different stakeholders and to guide commercially focused colleagues on technical topics.\nProven ability to align technical priorities with business objectives.\nA proactive and independent approach, with the confidence to take initiative, ask questions, and drive projects forward without waiting for direction.\nInternational experience: 3+ years at an international or multicultural company, ideally including time living or studying abroad, and business-level English.\nBonus Points For... \nKnowledge of CI/CD for building and testing embedded software.\nExperience working with semiconductor vendors or other ecosystem partners and adapting your approach to different stakeholders and ways of working.\nBuild What Matters.
