As a Procurement Operations Specialist, you will provide professional support for purchase order processing and carry out tactical sourcing activities. Your role involves negotiating with suppliers, setting up and maintaining relationships with IBM clients and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with IBM Procurement policies. Your primary responsibilities will include:\nPurchase Order Processing: Receive requests from IBM clients, negotiate with suppliers, and complete purchases while following IBM Procurement policies.\nRelationship Management: Set up and maintain relationships with IBM clients and suppliers through effective written and verbal communication.\nProblem Resolution: Apply problem determination skills to resolve issues in the purchasing process and minimize negative impact on the client's experience.\nProcurement Tool Utilization: Understand and effectively use procurement-related tools to process POs and document supplier/PO related information.\nInvoice Resolution: Clear aged open POs and resolve blocked invoices for suppliers.\nExposure to Procurement Tools: Familiarity with procurement-related tools to process POs and document supplier/PO related information.\nTactical Sourcing Experience: Experience working with suppliers, including negotiating and setting up relationships.\nPurchase Order Processing: Exposure to receiving requests from clients, negotiating with suppliers, and completing purchases while following procurement policies.\nCategory Knowledge: Basic understanding of categories and category suppliers, including market intelligence and benchmarking.\nProblem Determination Skills: Experience working with problem determination skills to resolve issues in the purchasing process.\nMarket Intelligence Knowledge: Exposure to market intelligence and benchmarking related to relevant commodities, understanding market trends and supplier dynamics.\nProcurement Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement-related tools to process POs and document supplier/PO related information, ensuring efficient procurement operations.\nCategory Supplier Understanding: Basic understanding of categories and category suppliers, including knowledge of supplier capabilities and industry developments.
