Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Control Pulse-Level Compiler Intern 2027. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA / Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Responsibilities:

• Extend and enhance a pulse-level quantum compiler for a next-generation logical qubit control system.
• Design and implement compiler passes and backend targets for distributed, heterogeneous, hard-real-time microwave control systems.
• Develop software and automation tools for testing compiler correctness and real-time performance;
• Collaborate with control systems, FPGA, and runtime development teams to integrate compiler output with hardware targets.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Rust and Python.
• Experience with compiler design or implementation, robotics or real-time control systems, or microwave/RF systems.
• Experience with Git, Linux, and command-line environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with pulse-level or hardware-aware quantum compilation.
• Familiarity with hard-real-time systems or embedded or robotics control loops;
• Familiarity with microwave/RF signal chains or superconducting qubit control hardware.
• Experience with quantum computing concepts.

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma/GED.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Projected annual salary range: $83,160 to $166,320.
• Up to 8 paid holidays may be available for eligible supplemental employees.
• Minimum of 56 hours of paid sick time may be available;
