Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, USA / Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA\nResponsibilities:\nExtend and enhance a pulse-level quantum compiler for a next-generation logical qubit control system.\nDesign and implement compiler passes and backend targets for distributed, heterogeneous, hard-real-time microwave control systems.\nDevelop software and automation tools for testing compiler correctness and real-time performance;\nCollaborate with control systems, FPGA, and runtime development teams to integrate compiler output with hardware targets.\nQualifications:\nPursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience with Rust and Python.\nExperience with compiler design or implementation, robotics or real-time control systems, or microwave/RF systems.\nExperience with Git, Linux, and command-line environments.\nStrong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nPreferred:\nExperience with pulse-level or hardware-aware quantum compilation.\nFamiliarity with hard-real-time systems or embedded or robotics control loops;\nFamiliarity with microwave/RF signal chains or superconducting qubit control hardware.\nExperience with quantum computing concepts.\nEducation:\nRequired: High School Diploma/GED.\nPreferred: Bachelor's Degree.\nBenefits and Compensation:\nProjected annual salary range: $83,160 to $166,320.\nUp to 8 paid holidays may be available for eligible supplemental employees.\nMinimum of 56 hours of paid sick time may be available;\nIBM Employee Stock Purchase Plan may be available to eligible employees.\nPaid family medical leave and disability benefits are available to eligible employees where required by law.\nBenefits may be prorated for employees who start during the calendar year.\nOther Information:\nNo travel required.\nGeneral daytime shift.\nNo visa sponsorship is provided now or in the future.
