Senior QA Automation Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior QA Salesforce Automation Engineer at IC Markets, you will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks across our web-based trading platforms, internal tooling, and core enterprise systems - including our Salesforce CRM environment. You will implement AI-assisted testing workflows, integrate quality gates into our CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with development, DevOps, and CRM engineering teams to embed a shift-left testing culture across engineering. This is a broad automation remit spanning client- facing trading platforms and internal business systems, rather than a single-platform specialism.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Framework Development and Execution

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright in TypeScript/JavaScript, covering UI, API, and integration layers across our trading platforms, internal tools, and enterprise systems such as Salesforce.
• Extend automation coverage to Salesforce Lightning UI (Lightning Web Components, dynamic locators, shadow DOM) and Apex-driven business logic wherever CRM quality gates are required.
• Integrate automated tests within our CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, ensuring quality gates are enforced on every release across all platforms.
• Manage test planning and execution through QMetry for Jira, maintaining full traceability from requirements through to defect resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to automation best practices, supporting a culture of quality ownership across the team.

Performance, Load and Environment Testing

• Design and execute load and stress testing suites using k6 and JMeter, validating platform behaviour under peak traffic conditions and defining performance benchmarks for release sign-off.
• Collaborate with Cloud and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing within AWS-based staging and PreProd environments.

Testing Strategy and Release Quality

• Develop and execute detailed test plans covering functional, regression, performance, security, and integration testing for trading platforms, client-facing web properties, and internal enterprise systems, including Salesforce and

adjacent back-office/CRM integrations.

• Validate integrations between core systems and trading/back-office platforms (e.g. MT4/MT5, cTrader, KYC/AML providers, marketing automation) via REST/SOAP APIs.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing, including mobile via BrowserStack, ensuring consistent user experiences across devices and browsers.
• Perform API testing using Postman with automated monitor collections and Slack- integrated alerting.
• Ensure test coverage reflects the regulatory and compliance obligations of a broker regulated by ASIC, CySEC, and other authorities.
• Support formal release sign-off processes with structured test cycles, defect traceability, and documented approval gates before production deployments.

AI-Augmented QA and Continuous Improvement

• Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing workflows, including automated test case generation, intelligent ticket triage, and LLM-powered test coverage analysis integrated into our SDLC.
• Build and maintain automation agents using tools such as n8n, Claude, and OpenAI APIs to automate repetitive QA tasks, including regression suite triage, Jira ticket processing, and test report summarisation.
• Continuously improve test efficiency and reliability through tooling improvements, smarter test selection, and automation of manual workflows.
• Mentor other QA engineers and champion automation-first, shift-left testing practices across the wider team.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end web automation, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and cross-browser and cross-device compatibility including Browser Stack integration.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions, with experience integrating automated tests into cloud-based deployment pipelines.
• Solid background in API testing using Postman with automated monitor collections, and performance/load testing using k6 and JMeter.
• Experience with QMetry for Jira, including test plan creation, cycle management, execution tracking, and defect traceability reporting.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI and LLM-based tools such as Claude and OpenAI into QA workflows, including building automation agents and AI-assisted testing pipelines.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation across platforms.
