Join us!\nTo supportstrong partnership and team connection, this role follows a four day in office work model.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for Cboe’sCloud Operations team.The Cloud Operations team is responsible forbuilding and operating Cboe’scloud-based applications, including products supporting clearing, exchange, and data solutions platforms. This role is focused on designing, automating, and operating infrastructure solutions for cloud-native applications. Senior Cloud Engineers are expected to lead project delivery, shape team processesand technical standards, and raise the technical depth of the engineers around them.\nYou bring breadth across infrastructure disciplines, including network design, system administration, storage management, security policy implementation, virtualization, and process automation.You apply it to build secure cloud infrastructure, support application runtime environments, and collaborate with engineers at all levels. You are proactive in diagnosing complex technical issues and ownthe automation the team depends on.\nYour responsibilities will be:\nBuild andmaintaina globally distributed cloud infrastructure platform using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)\n\nCollaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and business unit application teams to engineer infrastructure solutions for their cloud-based applications\n\nDesign, deploy, andoperateKubernetes-based platforms and workloads (EKS, Cluster API), includingGitOpsworkflows (e.g., Argo CD)\n\nSupport and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation\n\nPerform system and database maintenance, including application deployment, backup and restoration, patching, and upgrades\n\nMaintain cloud environments through incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning\n\nParticipate in on-call rotations and support operational readiness\n\nDrive retrospectives toidentifyopportunities to improve platform scalability and supportability\n\nLead implementation of cloud infrastructure projects from design through delivery\n\nOwn complex workstreams end-to-end - scope, sequencing, and hand-off to operations\n\nCommunicate status, blockers, and risks clearly to stakeholders and leadership\n\nLead design discussions and reviews, and provide technical direction and feedback to other engineers\n\nDefine and evolve the patterns and standards that keep the platform consistent and maintainable\n\nCollaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure systems are secure and compliant\n\nCreate andmaintainclear,accuratedocumentation - infrastructure designs, standard operating procedures, and support runbooks - tailored to the target audience (e.g., engineers, support staff)\n\nThe ideal candidate has\n6+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP preferred) in a professional setting.\n\nDeep, hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and GitOps(Argo CD).\n\nDeep, hands-on experience using Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and scripting languages (Python) to deploy, maintain, and support cloud infrastructure.\n\nStrong experience supporting containerized applications and Linux-based systems.\n\nStrong understanding of networking, IAM, cloud observability, and common cloud services such as AWS VPC, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.\n\nFamiliarity with managing secrets and sensitive configuration using tools such asHashiCorpVault.\n\nExperience designing, deploying, andoperatingfault-tolerant systems with on-call responsibilities.\n\nStrong collaboration and communication skills, including working effectively with engineers, security, and operations teams.\n\nInterestin continuous learning and in developing the engineers around you.\n\nBenefits and Perks\nWe value the total wellbeing of our people - including health, financial, personal and social wellness.
