We record every event on our 24x5 FX (Foreign Exchange) and UST (U.S. Treasuries) trading platforms. Billions of events are processed daily for books and records, reporting, analytics and market data products. Our proprietary tick database, built from the ground up using Java, is highly available and performant, and is a critical differentiator for Cboe FX and UST. This role entails working in a fast-paced environment where you will build and maintain software applications related to data collection and analytics. We are a global team with Software Engineering based in the NYC area and are expected to report to the office 4 times per week.\nResponsibilities:\nBuild/test/maintain performant and highly reliable (24x5) software to record and process data on billions of data points daily.\nDrive architectural decisions/implementations for resilient, maintainable, and scalable software\nCommunicate with stakeholders to capture/refine requirements and iterate towards a final product\nIdentify opportunities to improve user experience, reduce costs, and improve performance.\nSupport APIs and tools to query, summarize, and analyze big data.\nAutomate monitoring and alerting of anomalous market conditions.\nGenerate rich reports that deliver actionable business insights.\nDocument relevant details in the team wiki.\nLeverage AI responsibly (Claude/Copilot) to optimize productivity and system reliability.\nThe ideal candidate has:\n5+ years relevant work experience\nExperience with:Java (at least 3 years job experience)\nPostgreSQL or similar relational database\nLinux and scripting\nGit or similar version control\n\nPassion for big data\nStrong knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms\nExperience using AI across the software development lifecycle\nStrong communication and collaboration skills\nAbility/willingness to interface with non-technical team members to convert an idea/concept into a robust solution\nFinance industry experience/knowledge\nMinimum Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related discipline\nBenefits and Perksof working for Cboe Global Markets\nWe value the total wellbeing of our people - including health, financial,personaland social wellness.
