This role supervises staff and works closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller to ensure accuracy and integrity across all accounting processes. The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in financial closings, audits, tax compliance, budgeting, and internal controls\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nAccounting and Reporting\nOversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards\nManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements including variance analysis\nCollaborate with subsidiary teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining consistency across global operations\nMaintain the general ledger in Business Central including all GL accounts, cost centers, account groups, profit centers and allocations\nOversee monthly invoicing and billing processes\nPerform special projects and analysis assigned by CFO or Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller\nAssist with audits by preparing the required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries\nCash Flow Management & Forecasting\nMonitor company-wide cash balances on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments\nOversee cash flow forecasting, providing accurate short-term and long-term cash flow projections to senior management\nWork with the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller to optimize cash management and funding strategies across global operations\nInternal Controls & Standard Operating Procedures\nEvaluate and enhance internal financial controls as needed\nLead the development, documentation, and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for the accounting department to improve efficiency and consistency in accounting operations\nTax Coordination:\nSupport corporate compliance with tax filings, including corporate tax returns, state and local taxes, property taxes, transfer pricing, and international tax requirements\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance\nGuide the team in accounting standards and tax compliance, and encourage cross-functional collaboration across the acquired entities to enhance efficiency and accuracy\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements\nQualifications & Skill Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required and CPA is preferred\n8+ years of progressive financial analysis and planning experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or a private equity-backed environment\n5+ years of leading others \nStrong experience in establishing standardized accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures\nExtensive experience with cash flow forecasting and cash balance monitoring\nProficiency with Business Central (Microsoft Dynamics BC) and other ERP systems; experience with ERP implementations is highly desirable\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards\nExperience working with private equity firms and understanding their reporting requirements and processes\nExperience with external auditors, tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities\nAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and BI/reporting systems.\nAdvanced skills with Microsoft Office; Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)\nKey Competencies\nProven ability to lead, mentor, and share knowledge with team members\nFosters accountability and commitment from the team to achieve department goals \nAbility to plan and effectively set priorities for implementation \nProven analytic and problem-solving skills in a time-sensitive, logistics environment\nExcels at meeting deadlines and demonstrates superior time management skills\nNatural ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work setting with a strong attention to detail \nSuperior communication skills and an ability to motivate people with an emphasis on listening skills\nAbility to relate to and successfully interact across a variety of settings and work well with a broad and diverse workforce throughout the organization\nDemonstrates ability to work in a client-centric setting \nAbility to be flexible as priorities shift \nConsistent in follow-up and follow-through\nHighly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitude\nCredible with a high level of personal integrity\nAdaptive to ICAT’s core values \nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nMost work is performed indoors in an office setting \nFlexible approach to work, due to clients’ needs and project support requirements\nRegularly use hands to type, handle, or feel\nRequired to use close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and can focus\nMust have clear, easy to understand oral communication ability\nAbility to sit for prolonged periods.
