The successful candidate will work directly with municipal clients to review legislative changes, identify and resolve inconsistencies, maintain legal accuracy, and prepare high-quality publications that serve as authoritative resources for local governments and their communities.\nThis position is ideal for individuals who enjoy analytical reading, solving complex organizational challenges, reviewing legal language, and ensuring information is accurate, clear, and accessible.\nKey Responsibilities\nLegislative Analysis and Codification\nAnalyze legislation and its impact on municipal codes and related publications. \nReview legislation for completeness, consistency, clarity, and proper organization. \nIdentify conflicts, duplications, obsolete provisions, and missing information. \nDetermine appropriate placement of legislative content within existing code structures. \nIncorporate new legislation and amendments into municipal codes. \nCompare legislation with statutes, regulations, and existing code provisions to identify issues requiring clarification or further review. \nResearch and work with clients to resolve questions regarding legislative intent, organization, and implementation. \nEditorial Review and Quality Assurance\nEdit and copyedit legislative content for style, grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy. \nCreate and revise chapter, article, and section titles. \nReview and update statutory citations and legal references. \nVerify and maintain accurate cross-references throughout publications. \nPrepare editor's notes, historical annotations, and supporting documentation. \nEnsure accuracy of amendment insertion, legislative histories, and publication records. \nIdentify missing legislation, missing wording, incorrect citations, and other content issues. \nClient and Project Management\nWork directly with municipal clients to clarify project requirements and deliverables. \nManage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and quality standards. \nCommunicate project status, schedules, questions, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders. \nFollow up on outstanding materials and client decisions to keep projects moving forward. \nResolve project-related issues and recommend practical solutions. \nPublication Preparation\nReview and finalize tables of contents, disposition records, derivation tables, and related publication materials. \nPrepare and update adopting ordinances and supporting documents.Implement approved client decisions and maintain records of substantive revisions. \n\nFinalize manuscripts and related materials for publication. \nCollaboration\nWork closely with team members through editorial, production, customer support, and publishing
