This role offers the opportunity to support a sophisticated bankruptcy and restructuring practice handling complex national bankruptcy and related litigation cases. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys on complex bankruptcy proceedings representing a broad range of stakeholders, including creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors. Matters routinely involve high-stakes litigation and contested issues in Chapter 11 cases.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience:\nSupporting complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including chapter 11 cases and out-of-court workouts\nRepresenting including creditors’ committees, liquidation trustees, receivers, debtors, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors\nDrafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and related filings and participating in substantive court proceedings\nCollaborating with attorneys across offices and practice groups on restructuring matters in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment \nThe ideal candidate will also have:\nThree (3) to five (5) years of bankruptcy or restructuring experience within a law firm environment\nExperience in chapter 11 matters and creditor-side representation\nExperience in litigation, taking and defending depositions, and courtroom advocacy\nStrong drafting, research, and analytical skills\nStrong entrepreneurial drive\nStrong drive to stay informed on legal developments and industry trends in bankruptcy law\nA J.D. from an accredited law school\nActive and in good standing bar admission to the New York state bar\nMust have permanent authorization to work in the United States\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive compensation in a collegial, mid-size firm environment\nQuality benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement programs\nOne-on-one career coaching and professional development programming\nA supportive culture centered on mentorship, advancement, and innovation\nThe salary range for this position is $225,000 to $250,000 based on experience, plus opportunities for discretionary and hours-based bonus\nIce Miller LLP embraces a work environment that is collaborative, welcoming, and focused on growth.
