Diagrams got stale, decisions got lost, and nothing felt connected to reality.\nSo we started building something better. It began as a side project, let us snowboard most days in Whistler for a season, and people kept using it…\nWe got to nearly $1M USD with just the founders before we hired.\nToday we’re a small, profitable team ($3M+ USD ARR) building a collaborative modelling tool for software architecture. We care about staying lean, shipping fast, having fun, and building something people actually love.\nHow we work\n- We keep meetings to a minimum\n- We ship weekly\n- We work in small teams (usually 2 people) with clear ownership\n- We avoid over-engineering, but we care deeply about polish\n- We release early, get feedback, and refine\nThis is not a place to hide. You’ll own what you build.\nThe role\nYou’ll build across the entire product:\n- Frontend UI/UX (working closely with design)\n- Backend APIs and data models\n- Real-time systems (WebSockets)\n- Infrastructure and migrations\n- Fixing, refining, and improving what already exists\nOur stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Vue, Pixi.js, Tailwind, Cloud Run, Firestore, WebSockets\nWhat “great” looks like\nA great hire doesn’t wait to be told what to do.\nIn your first couple of weeks, you’ll use the product, find something that feels off, and fix it.\nNot because it was assigned. Because it bothered you.\nYou’ll own meaningful features end-to-end. Examples:\n- Git-like workflows for diagramming\n- Import and data ingestion pipelines\n- Access controls for complex organizations\n- Data visualization across large architectures\nYou’ll make things feel better, not just work.\n30 / 60 / 90 days\nFirst 30 days\n- Get familiar with the product and codebase\n- Ship improvements to areas that feel “off”\n- Start contributing to real features\n60 days\n- Take ownership of a meaningful area of the product\n- Improve performance or usability in a noticeable way\n- Work across frontend + backend without hand-holding\n90 days\n- Own and ship a complex feature end-to-end\n- Contribute to solving harder problems like:\nAccess control for large organizations\nManaging deeply nested architecture models\nPerformance issues with highly connected systems\nCurrent challenges\n- Changing model hierarchies (parents/levels) is complex and fragile\n- Large, highly connected models can impact real-time performance\n- Access permissions don’t scale well for large companies\nIf those sound interesting, you’ll probably enjoy this.\nAbout you\nYou:\n- Have 6+ years of experience across both large companies and startups\n- Are strong in both frontend and backend\n- Have built things you’re genuinely proud of\n- Care deeply about how things look and feel, not just that they work\n- Take ownership and don’t wait for permission\n- Are comfortable working across a large, evolving codebase\n- Can take feedback without ego and adjust quickly\nYou’ve likely:\n- Built side projects just because something annoyed you\n- Worked across product, UX, and engineering boundaries\n- Shipped real features that people use\nProof of craft (required)\nYou must show us something you’ve built.\n- Portfolio, live apps, screenshots - anything that shows off your skills\n- We care about how it feels to use, not just what it does\nIf you can’t point to something you’ve built that feels great, this role isn’t for you.\nYou’ll struggle here if\n- You rely heavily on AI without understanding fundamentals\n- You wait for direction instead of taking initiative\n- You blame others instead of owning problems\n- You lead with ego instead of curiosity\n- You need constant permission to move forward\nAlso, if you don’t actually care about what you’re building, don’t apply.\nBonus points\n- You’ve been a founder (even if it failed)\n- You come from a non-traditional background\n- You understand the limits of LLMs beyond surface-level use\n- You’ve spent time in a major tech hub and chose (or want) to work in Canada\nLocation\n- North Vancouver (5 min from Lonsdale Quay)\n- 3 days in office (Tues-Thurs)\n- Hybrid, not fully remote\n- Flexible location a few weeks a year\nBenefits\nStock options\nProfit sharing\nLearning budget\nConference budget\nAnnual retreat\nFlexible holiday\nHealth, dental, vision\nAnd, yes, “weiner” Wednesdays and free ice cubes\nHow to apply\nTell us about yourself:\nhttps://forms.icepanel.io/careers/senior-full-stack-engineer\nScreening questions (AI answers are insta-deleted…)\nIntro chat (20 mins)\nTechnical call (30 mins)\nIn person white-boarding session/meet the team (2 hours)\nWork trial (2 days min + paid)\nReference checks\nOffer letter","description_format":"text","description_chars":5087,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":6,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Stock options"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Canada","iso":"CA","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Project & Work Management Software","Custom Software Development"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-08-27T23:36:33Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":20,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.455,"p_room":0.45,"age_days":50,"expected_fill_days":30,"reasons":["conf:1","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-17T05:46:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":120260,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/icepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/icepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-17T23:34:00Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1843,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-18T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":2412},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=2412"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ficepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ficepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ficepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/icepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ficepanel-senior-full-stack-engineer-2"}]}
