SUPO, where required)\n\nWhy this role matters:\nAs a Harness Engineer, you build the electrical backbone of ICEYE’s satellites. Every subsystem on the spacecraft, from power to command and data handling, depends on harnesses being manufactured, routed, and verified correctly. You will execute assigned harness manufacturing, installation, and verification tasks with high precision, following established procedures and work instructions.\n\nWho We Are\n\n ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.\nFounded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.\n Your day-to-day responsibilities\nOwn the harness build process from drawings and wire tables to finished, verified harness, including manufacturing, installation, routing, and test\n\nWrite and maintain work instructions, travelers, checklists, and build procedures that technicians can follow with confidence\n\nAct as the bridge between harness design and production, giving design-for-manufacturing (DfM) feedback on wire tables, connector choices, routing, and harness layouts\n\nDefine and improve verification and acceptance testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and pin retention, and design or specify test fixtures and tooling\n\nLead troubleshooting of build and process issues on the floor, own NCRs, drive root cause analysis, and put corrective actions in place with Quality\n\nSupport harness installation and integration on satellite assemblies together with the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) team, making sure bend radii, strain relief, and routing standards are respected\n\nMake sure work follows IPC/WHMA-A-620, ECSS, and internal standards, with full traceability and configuration control\n\nSupport and coach technicians, sharing best practices and helping the team build its harness capability\n\nKeep a clean, organised, and audit-ready work environment that meets ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nMust haves:\nA degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline\n\nAt least 3 years of experience in cable and harness manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or production engineering, ideally in aerospace, defence, or another high-reliability environment\n\nSolid understanding of harness build techniques: crimping, soldering, shielding, lacing, connectorisation, and protective coverings\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, wire tables, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and to turn them into practical work instructions\n\nExperience with electrical testing of harnesses and with defining acceptance criteria\n\nStructured problem-solving skills and experience with NCRs and root cause analysis\n\nClear communication skills and proficient English (written and spoken) for cross-functional collaboration\n\nNice to haves:\nIPC certifications, particularly IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)\n\nFamiliarity with aerospace standards (ECSS, IPC) and configuration control\n\nExperience with harness design tools (e.g. Zuken E3, Capital, SolidWorks Electrical) or 3D harness routing\n\nExperience with coaxial, shielded, or high-speed cable assemblies\n\nExposure to satellite integration or environmental test campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum)\n\nPrevious work in a cleanroom or under formal ESD controls\n\nWorking at ICEYE\nAt ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
