As we continue expanding both our operations and spacecraft platforms with more and more demanding mission requirements there is a need for an engineering professional who has extensive experience from mechanical engineering, system integration as well as manufacturing and qualification of space hardware.\nAs a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our engineering solutions will meet the stringent Aerospace quality requirements in terms of structural integrity, reliability and efficient and cost effective manufacturing. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.\nFounded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.\n Your day-to-day responsibilities\nLead and contribute to trade studies, design reviews (PDR/CDR), and verification and production qualification documentation (PRR/ERR).\n\nEnsure smooth, seamless and on time product delivery, from concept to qualification.\n\nContribute to the continuous improvements of our current products.\n\nCollaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT engineering and QA department to ensure our products are compliant with launch and on-orbit environments.\n\nCollaborate with system and subsystem engineers to define requirements for new products.\n\nCollaborate with both internal and external engineering teams and AIT teams during product integration and build to validate the engineered solutions are meeting the set requirements and targets. Support issue resolution if and where necessary.\n\nWhen needed, engage in broader spacecraft mechanical design tasks, providing cross-disciplinary support.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nMust haves:\nMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field\n\nExperience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries\n\nExperience in designing satellites structures, subsystems or similar complex electromechanical systems\n\nUnderstanding of mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal effects on space structures & mechanisms\n\nAbility to work cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams\n\nFamiliarity with industry standards such as ECSS, NASA, MIL\n\nStrong team working, analytical, documentation, and communication skills\n\nAbility to make multi team and organisational impact\n\nNice to haves:\nExperience with PLM/PDM systems for configuration control\n\nHands-on experience with mechanical systems assembly, integration, and testing\n\nPrior experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft environments (SpaceX, Rocket Lab, ESA, etc.)\n\nApplication Process\nTalent Attraction Introduction\n\nHiring Manager Alignment\n\nTask Assignment\n\nTechnical Interview\n\nDirector Interview\n\nWorking at ICEYE\nAt ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
