The summer intern will support the team on live deal processes and strategic projects, working under the direction of Corporate Development deal leads. Because AI is increasingly relevant to research, analysis, and productivity, the team is also looking for an intern who is comfortable using AI tools responsibly and can help identify practical applications within Corporate Development projects.\nThis is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship expected to begin in June and end in August. This role will be hybrid from Reston, VA (2x per week). At this time, we are unable to provide housing or relocation assistance for this position.\nResponsibilities\nResearch target companies, competitors, and market segments; prepare company profiles, screening summaries, market maps, and market overviews.\nSupport due diligence by tracking requests, organizing materials, summarizing findings, and helping the deal team identify key issues and follow-up items.\nPrepare and update presentation materials for internal dal reviews, leadership updates, and strategic discussions.\nAssist with pipeline tracking, data organization, comparable company research, and other ad hoc analyses.\nUse approved AI tools, where appropriate, to improve the efficiency of research, summarization, data organization, and presentation development.\nHelp identify practical AI use cases for the Corporate Development team, such as improving company profiles, diligence trackers, meeting summaries, pipeline management, or knowledge sharing.\nSupport other internal projects of the Corporate Development team, including strategic initiatives where research, analytics, process improvement, or AI-enabled tools can add value.\nBasic Qualifications\nBy start date, a minimum of 30 completed college level credit-hours in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCompleted bachelor’s degree and enrollment verification or 9 credit hours completed in a master’s degree program in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.\nDemonstrated interest in Corporate Development, M&A, strategy, finance, consulting, technology, or business transformation.\nStrong Excel and PowerPoint skills; comfort with financial statements, basic corporate finance concepts, structured research, and data organization.\nExperience using AI tools for research, summarization, analysis, productivity, or workflow improvement is strongly preferred.\nAbility to use AI responsibly, including validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and applying sound judgment before relying on AI-generated work.\nAnalytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable handling confidential information in a fast-moving environment.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex information into concise, decision-ready outputs.\nCuriosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and apply them to practical business problems.\nWhat you'll gain\nExposure to end-to-end M&A execution at a public company, mentorship from experienced deal professionals, and a capstone project presented to the Corporate Development team at the end of the summer.\nBot and Third-Party Applications\nPlease note that this application must be submitted directly by the applicant for consideration.
